Workshops

EPA CAN DO has created a One Stop Housing Assistance Center (Next Step Housing Assistance Center) to help 1st time homebuyers, existing home owners and renters overcome obstacles to housing by providing the following services:

Obtain and review credit reports
Provide credit counseling in order to assist clients in re-establishing credit worthiness
Provide individual Homebuyer and Rental Counseling with case management assistance as needed
Provide workshops for first-time homebuyers, renters and existing homeowners
Identify appropriate loan products and assist with the Home Loan application process
Connect applicants to down payment/deposit/rental assistance programs
Provide post-purchase counseling and workshops for homebuyers and post-rental counseling for tenants

Homebuyers Education Workshop
 
This is a two day class for individuals who are interested in purchasing a home. The workshop series will provide a general overview of the home buying process including information about mortgage loan financing, the loan application process, and the real estate transaction process. Upon completion of the workshop series, applicants will receive a certificate. The certificate can then be presented to financial and lending institutions in the near or distant future to obtain a pre-approved mortgage loan.
 
Financial Readiness Workshop Series 
 
This is a three day class designed to help individuals improve their credit, use credit wisely, reduce debt, establish goals, develop a budget, establish a savings plan, education on investment vehicles, and learn how to invest in their future. Upon successful completion of this workshop series, applicants will have a clearer understanding of how to better manage their finances and improve their credit.
