Housing and Economic Development

EPC CAN DO’s portfolio includes the development of over 336 affordable housing units.  Over the next five years EPA CAN DO expects to produce between 200 – 300 units of new construction housing and acquire and rehabilitate from 150 to 200 units of housing.  Both will be affordable to low and moderate-income families and individuals.

The purpose of the Vineyard’s Emancipated Youth Housing is to help former foster youths achieve residential stability and a productive lifestyle.  Approximately 65% percent of youth that age out of the California foster care system need safe and affordable housing at the time of their emancipation.  A large number of former foster youth experience homelessness and/or unemployment after emancipation.  The Vineyard’s Emancipated Youth Housing looks to provide much needed housing and associated services to San Mateo County youth population.
